I recently was given the opportunity to review the Hacking Chinese program from Hocmaa Publishing for free in exchange for my 100% honest and unbiased opinion on their product.
My daughter has been wanting to learn Chinese for the longest time because she is half Chinese. I have always told my husband to talk to her Chinese since she was born but that never happened and where we live we really do not have any Chinese tutor's so for the last couple of months I have been researching ways that she could learn.
I had began to think that there was no way this was going to happen because it was either drive her a hour in a half to a tutor 3 times a week or save up for months and purchase a program off the internet. Well now that has all changed because of this wonderful book from Hocmaa Publishing called Hacking Chinese: The Complete Guide To HSK 1 by Eva DOVC.
When my daughter first starting reading the book she told me mom I dont think I am gonna learn anything without someone teaching me, boy was she wrong my daughter has been reading the book for about 3 weeks now and I am amazed to see what she has learned and what she can do now. Even her Dad does not know how to write in Chinese and my daughter knows a few characters now. I am beyond happy with this book.
My daughter has actually had fun learning with the Hacking Chinese book.
Product DescriptionThe present manual includes all the vocabulary that will be presented in the HSK I. We’ve included the 150 words that are included in the HSK I official list and added some others that have appeared in the tests so far. We’ve also included real test examples and exercises that simulate HSK tests, as well as grammar explanations that will benefit your Chinese study in the future.
We’ve put emphasis on learning characters, as we believe that the early acquaintance and knowledge of Chinese characters is essential for anyone that is serious in achieving language fluency. We know that by learning the characters, you’ll build a solid foundation for you future Chinese language studies and language fluency.
Lastly, we believe in learning by testing. Neuroscientists have discovered that we remember better the content that we have been tested on. That is why we have structured this book in a quiz format and we’re able to promise you: if you are able to answer or quiz questions, you are more than ready to breeze through your HSK I.
