Best Buy Lunar New Year E-Gift Cards

How fantastic is this? Best Buy carries Chinese Lunar New Year E-Gift Cards to give to your loved ones. I think this is a great idea. I love it when companies feel inspired by all types of holidays and offer new ways for us to give to our friends and family.

I know for me I am going to utilize this E-Gift card card by Best Buy to give to some of my family instead of the traditional Red Envelope (hóngbāo in Mandarin, angbao in Taiwanese (also Singaporean Hokkien), angpau in Min Nan, lai see (利市/利是) in Cantonese, lì xì in Vietnamese and sae bae don (세뱃돈/歲拜돈) in Korean.) with money in them. I know my kids love getting the Red Envelopes with money in them but for the older kids and adults I think they would love to receive a Best Buy Gift Card and especially since it is designed for the Lunar New Year.

This E-Gift Card is gonna be perfect for my daughter who is away at college and is always shopping for things needed for school. So it will be a win for me but even a bigger win for her too.

Best Buy supports events which they believe are of importance to employees, customers, and communities.  The upcoming Lunar New Year is one of those important celebrations.

For Asians all around the world, including Asian-Americans, Lunar New Year not only celebrates the beginning of the year but also the ending of winter and the anticipated arrival of spring.  It is one of the most important holidays celebrated in Asian countries.

This upcoming year, Lunar New Year, which is based on the phases of the moon, falls on February 19th, 2015 of our Gregorian calendar.  Best Buy is helping celebrate the event with an Asian-inspired Giftcard and eGiftcard, available for purchase or gifting from BestBuy.com through February 22nd, 2015.
