This Tropical Traditions Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil is a truly unrefined coconut oil. This coconut oil is made on Mt. Banahaw and surrounding areas from organic coconuts. Coconuts are used fresh (within 24-48 hours of harvest) from small family farms on Mt. Banahaw and other rural places in Quezon Province, the coconut capital of the Philippines. Only the highest quality coconuts are hand-picked from each harvest. The volcanic soil of Mt. Banahaw makes these organic coconuts some of the most nutritionally rich coconuts in the world!  I have loved the way that it smells and how easy it is to cook with too. The health benefits are such a added bonus for my family. There are so many different recipes that it can be used in and to find out what it can be used in you can visit free coconut recipes. I have used it to sear our breaded chicken breast. At first I did not tell my family that i used the oil to cook the chicken in. I do remember my husband walking into the kitchen to ask me if I was burning a candle because he said that it smelt so good. After I finished cooking the chicken I served it with mashed potatoes and corn. My eight year old who is a semi picky eater just thought it was regular chicken began to eat it and to my surprise she loved it and told me she felt like she was eating chicken from a restaurant.
